Fiber intake and endometrial cancer risk.
Generous consumption of foods containing fiber, particularly lignin, may reduce a woman's susceptibility to endometrial cancer.
This study examined the association between the intake of dietary fiber and the risk of being diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Researchers compared the diets and endometrial cancer odds ratios of 1362 Italian women.
Researchers found out that increased consumption of foods rich in fiber, particularly lignin, decreased the risk of developing endometrial cancer. This study strengthens the body of evidence supporting the protective effect of fiber, especially lignin, against endometrial cancer.
