What Dietary Patterns and Nutrients are Associated with Pancreatic Cancer? Literature Review
High compliance with a diet filled with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains may drive down the risk of pancreatic cancer in men and women.
This study evaluated how our dietary choices influence our chances of developing pancreatic cancer using a meta-analytic approach. Researchers drew on data and evidence extracted from a pool of studies published between 1985 and 2022.
Researchers observed that followers of diets rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains were less likely to develop pancreatic cancer. In contrast, heightened risk of pancreatic cancer was associated with the consumption of fatty foods, red, and processed meats in this study. The findings of this study support the intake of fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains for better protection against pancreatic cancer.
